How street cleaning works in Boston

• Daytime street cleaning runs April 1 to November 30 in most neighborhoods. In the North End, South End and Beacon Hill it runs March 1 to December 31. Source
• Overnight cleaning of main roads, arterials and commercial roads runs all year. Source
• On City holidays daytime cleaning is canceled, and overnight cleaning runs as normal. Evacuation Day and Bunker Hill Day are not among them. Source
• Cars left during cleaning are towed: $132 for the tow and $35 for each day of storage, on top of the ticket. Source
• Odd and even mean the house-number side of the street. We place each row of the city schedule on the street map between its two cross streets; rows we cannot place are left out, not guessed. Source
