SweepBeep is built to need as little about you as possible. You do not need an account to use the schedules or the map. There are no ads, and we do not sell or share personal information.

Your location

When you tap "Use my location", your browser asks your permission and gives your position to the page. The page matches it to a block on your device, using map data it downloads from this site. Your position is not sent to our server and is not stored. The block it picks is written after the # in the page address, a part browsers do not send to servers, so you can bookmark or share it.

Map backgrounds load from OpenFreeMap. When the map shows the area around you, your browser requests those background images from OpenFreeMap, which can therefore see roughly which area you are viewing, as any online map provider can.

Address search

If you type an address on the map, it is sent to our server and from there to the US Census Bureau geocoder to find its coordinates. We do not store the address or cache the answer. Like any web server, our host keeps standard request logs, which include the address you searched for as part of the request. Our server also keeps a short-lived count of requests per network address to prevent abuse, held in memory only.

Saved spots

Spots you save on the map are stored only in your browser. Clearing your browser data removes them. We never receive them.

Email addresses and reports

If you join the alerts waitlist, we store your email address to tell you when alerts open in your city. If you report a schedule problem, we store what you write and, if you give it, your email so we can reply. They are kept in our database, hosted by Supabase. We use them only for those purposes. Ask us to delete them at any time and we will.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure how fast pages load. They do not use cookies and do not identify you. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking.

Services that see your connection

The site is hosted by Vercel. Map backgrounds load from OpenFreeMap. The waitlist and reports are stored with Supabase. Vercel and OpenFreeMap receive your IP address and browser details when your browser requests a file from them, as any web server does.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
