Editorial Policy
This page explains how SweepBeep builds its schedule pages and keeps them accurate.
One source for schedules
Schedules come only from the SF Public Works street sweeping dataset. We publish what it says. Every street page names the source and the date the city last updated it. We re-download it every month and when the city announces changes.
Holidays
Next-sweep dates skip holidays according to the SFMTA holiday enforcement schedule. Where SFMTA lists night sweeping as enforced on a holiday, we keep night sweeps in the schedule rather than risk telling you it is safe to park.
Sides of the street
The city records which side of each block a schedule applies to, as left or right of the street's mapped direction and as a compass side. We show the compass side (north side, east side) exactly as the city labels it.
No invented content
We do not invent schedules, statistics, reviews or quotes. Any number on the site links to the official page it comes from. We use software to process the data and to help draft explanatory text, and every page is checked against its source before it is published.
Corrections
If a posted sign disagrees with a page, the sign is right. Tell us the street, block, side and what the sign says, and we will check it against the city's data and correct the page. Use the report form or email sweepbeepsupport@gmail.com.
