How street sweeping works in Los Angeles
- Posted routes are swept every other week: on the 1st and 3rd, or the 2nd and 4th, time that weekday comes around in the month. A 5th one is never a posted sweep day. Source
- Each route has two sweep days: one side of the street on one day, the other side on the other. The city does not publish which side goes with which day, so we show both days for both sides. The sign on your side is the rule. Source
- No posted sweeping on the 13 city holidays on the StreetsLA calendar, including Cesar Chavez Day and the day after Thanksgiving. Source
- Downtown routes are swept on weekdays from 1 to 4 a.m. Source
